It’s that time again! Riders from across the South Coast, Northern California, and even the I-5 corridor are heading to Agness for the Wild Coast Trails Association’s annual Holiday Party at Pine Grove.
This year’s ride will feature the Pine Grove Trail and possibly Fritsche Cabin Trail, both set in the stunning Rogue-Siskiyou National Forest just east of Gold Beach. Pine Grove is a local favorite and widely regarded as the best downhill trail on the Oregon Coast, offering more than 6.5 miles of nearly all-downhill riding. Expect roots, rocks, a touch of exposure, and a mix of backcountry and flowy sections—plus plenty of incredible viewpoints. The trail ends where the Wild and Scenic Rogue and Illinois rivers meet, so anglers may want to pack a rod.
Both of these iconic south coast trails are best utilized with a shuttle and WCTA will be providing free shuttles with cash gifts encouraged for the drivers who don’t get to ride. Both of these trails are not beginner trails and are considered intermediate in difficulty.
